A young couple bought a house in a hillside neighborhood north of Los Angeles, excited to enter the LA housing market. They chose this neighborhood as the perfect place to start a family. The house, a single-story dwelling, had an unauthorized addition in the backyard. Despite this, it was a promising candidate for expansion and renovation. As previously discussed, the main challenge with such a property is its hillside location. The backyard had a steep uphill slope with a deteriorating retaining wall at the base, failing to support the hillside.
Sinai Construction was brought in to advise on the project and methodology, eventually being contracted to build all the necessary foundation elements. The addition required extensive excavation into the hillside to erect a 13-foot high retaining wall. The soil behind the retaining walls was properly compacted according to approved procedures and overseen by a project geologist. Upon completion, Sinai Construction ensured the project site was left clean and organized, providing an exceptional customer experience. For inquiries and quotes, please contact us at (323)655.0960.
