Sloping floor repair significantly improves the quality of living spaces

Why Level Floors

You don't have to live with sloping floors. But most importantly, leveling floors in a house also helps expose any underlying home foundation problems — if found — that could be causing the floor sloping in house to begin with. Besides, repairing your homes foundation now can save you a bundle instead of waiting for the foundation to fail and needing a total home foundation replacement later.

With this failing foundation we were able to shore up the house with oversized beams. Then we used precast piers and custom-cut posts that were strategically placed beneath the sagging floor joist repair. With this temporarily support, the unlevel floors in old house were leveled. Eventually permanent concrete pillars were installed, the homes foundation repaired and sloping floors, became permanently leveled.

The procedure to repair a sloping floor

Generally speaking, the entire floor leveling process takes approximately 2-10 days. Whatever the underlying cause of the sloping floors, floor leveling usually involves the following steps:

What is Floor Leveling Procedure

Shoring the Building

Oversized beams with precast piers and custom-cut posts are strategically placed beneath the floor joists to temporarily support the old house sagging floors.

Separating the Building from its Foundation

The foundation anchors are disconnected from the sill plates, and if needed, the stucco is broken at the sill plate level.

Leveling the Building

A gentle lift is created using hydraulic jacks. The building is raised slowly and just enough to minimize any damage to the interior of the home. An expert field technician monitors the effect of the movement on both the inside and the outside of the structure and takes interior elevation measurements throughout the leveling process.

Adjusting the Foundation

Once the floor has been leveled, the existing foundation is adjusted as necessary to ensure that it will be able to support and maintain the now-level floor.

Foundation adjustments are implemented on a case-to-case or on a need basis to fix sloping floor . A new cripple wall, concrete piers, posts, and girders may be installed to make the floors level and to ensure that they will stay level.

Floor Leveling starts with Checking Foundation

Floor leveling starts with checking foundation a clients sloped floors old house repair review.

I have seen Sinai Construction's signs around my neighborhood for some years now so when I started to notice cracks in the walls getting larger and sloping floors. I immediately thought of calling them for an Inspection. I additionally looked up online 2 other companies that advertised heavily. Sinai Construction was the only company that spent a considerable time (close to an hour) crawling under the entire crawlspace and inspecting closely the perimeter of the house. Needless to say, their analysis matched their inspection; not only did they find out the problems in my foundation, but they also found what caused them to begin with. What really surprised me was that their proposal for the repair work was very close to the lowest bidder which failed to address the needed work to ensure this doesn't happen again. I now know why I have seen so many of their signs for so long.
